What is semi permanent makeup?

Semi-permanent make-up, also known as micropigmentation, is a form of short-term cosmetic tattooing which allows you to have long-lasting eyeliner and lip colour as well as being able to shape and contour your eyebrows. This colouring will stay in the skin for a number of years, gradually breaking down and fading with time, while the longevity of the outcomes will depend on your age and skin type.

How safe is permanent makeup?

In the hands of a trained individual, the processes are generally safe. But governing agencies hasn't kept pace with the progression of the permanent makeup industry, and there are stacks of unqualified people exercising needles.

What’s the difference between permanent makeup and semi-permanent makeup?

Technically, permanent cosmetics practices are considered long-lasting because the colour is inserted into the upper reticular part of the dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. Nevertheless, as with any tattoo, fading can and often does occur, requiring periodic maintenance, colour re-enhancement or colour refreshing.

No matter what we call it, many people will continue to need and want the benefits of long-lasting cosmetically tattooed makeup, even if it is only semi-permanent.

How long will it take to recover from Micropigmentation?

No recovery time is essential, nevertheless treated areas will appear a little dark for a few days and subsequently exfoliate and ease to a more natural looking shade, the second visit will be necessary to perfect the shape and deepen the colour.
