Frequently Asked Questions
No, you don’t need any previous tattooing experience to join our course. The tattoo industry has changed a lot in recent years, and there’s now a huge variety of styles and approaches. While in the past being a strong drawer/ artist was often seen as essential, today’s technology means you can create and combine designs easily using phones, tablets, and applications like procreate to produce artwork and stencils in minutes.
Some people prefer to focus on simple script or fine line tattoos, while others want to master full-colour realism and other complex styles. Our course teaches the fundamentals of tattooing which are the core techniques and skills that apply across all styles, so you’ll be equipped to tattoo whatever inspires you.
Yes! On the final day of the course, you will have the opportunity to tattoo a live model. This will be the same design you’ve been practicing and developing throughout the course, allowing you to apply everything you’ve learned in a real world studio setting under professional supervision. This is a key part of your training and helps build your confidence as you take your first steps as a professional tattoo artist.
All the equipment you need for the course is provided, so you don’t have to bring anything with you. This includes tattoo machines, needles, inks, practice skins, and all the necessary supplies to learn and practice safely and professionally.
If you already have a portfolio or designs you’ve worked on before, feel free to bring them along on a device (like a tablet or phone). This helps your instructor understand your current skill level and tailor guidance to your needs.
We also understand that some students prefer to bring their own tattoo machines, and you’re welcome to do so if you wish. Plus, throughout the course, you’ll have access to our student shop where you can purchase professional tattoo equipment and supplies at discounted rates to use after you complete your training.
